The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Iceland, Prof. Arusha Cooray, presented her credentials to President Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson of Iceland on
February 2019 in Reykjavik.
Following the presentation of credentials, Ambassador Cooray and President Jóhannesson discussed the potential for increased collaboration between the two countries in the areas of tourism, fisheries, tea, arts, culture and sports.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka, during her visit to Iceland, also had meetings with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland, and the Honorary Consul General for Sri Lanka, Agust Jonsson .
The potential for enhanced cooperation in many areas including trade, tourism, training programmes and student-staff exchanges were discussed during these meetings.
